2008 Queensland State Championships
Greetings. The 2008 Queensland Barefoot Water Ski Club (QBWSC) State Championships was successfully held on Saturday 8th March at Lough Earn, Woodford. The weather was a mix of sunshine, rain and wind so the jumpers were on and off all day. There was a total of 15 skiers at the Championships. The QBWSC would like to extend a warm welcome to Amelia Grech, Brendan Paige and Gavin Bettenay to their first State Championship. These three skiers were very eager and excited to be competing and you could not get the smile off Amelia's face. All will now be skiing for their State and competing in the 2008 National Barefoot Championships in April. A warm welcome back to Peter Aquili who has not been competitively skiing for some time. A number of personal best scores were achieved by the skiers. The hard work does pay off. In short, everyone seemed to enjoy the event and it is wonderful to see such great team spirit. A big thank you goes to those who organised the event, the catering was excellent. It was great to see that everyone was eager to give a hand and help. Thank you to the officials. It is wonderful to see so many people eager to learn the boat judging and scoring. Below is links to the scores, photo gallery and there is a special Crash n Burn section. 2008 State Event Scores 2008 Photo Gallery 2008 Crash n Burn |
