2008 Australian Barefoot Championships Barefoot Queensland was very successful at the recent 2008 Australian Barefoot Nationals held on 14-20 April at Liverpool, Sydney. The Queensland Barefoot team comprised of 16 skiers, 4 officials and 1 driver. Barefoot Queensland provided the two Custom Ski Boats for the competition. A big thankyou to those involved. Two of our skiers skied themselves into the Australian Record books. Congratulations to Ashleigh Stebbeings (Junior Girls - Slalom 13.6) and Cameron Smith (Veteran Mens - Tricks 3570) for this wonderful achievement. The team spirit was evident from the first skier off the dock to the last. It was a wonderful week of skiing and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Many of the Queensland barefoot skiers did personal best scores, won medals and overall trophies. Queensland Barefoot won the Junior and Holland Shields which is a huge achievement and congratulations go to all the skiers for a job well done. Queensland Barefoot also had 8 skiers named in the Australian Squad. Good luck is extended to these skiers with their aim to be named on the Australian Team for the 2009 World Championships to be held in New Zealand.
